How about an Android app nurtured by Twitter itself that not only looks awesome but works awesome! Yes, after much anticipation, Twitter Blog
announced the official Twitter app for Android.

The app looks better than most of the Twitter apps currently available for Android. The main advantage of using the official app is probably the seamless integration with the platform.
Some nice features of Twitter for Android are:
-
Home screen widget lets you quickly access Twitter timeline. Reading tweets is much easy no matter on which screen you are.
-
Contacts Integration – You can see your friends’ tweets right in your phonebook, GoogleTalk list (or any application that uses Android’s QuickContact bar).
-
Sharing made super easy – A new option ‘Twitter’ gets added to the share menu of any application so that you can share content to Twitter in a few taps.
Twitter for Android is now available in the Android Market. So download it from your phone. And while you are at it, do follow us on Twitter !

When Twitter’s popularity is going leaps and bounds, it’s rather apt that someone might pull off chat client based on Twitter.
t.imo.im, founded by Google’s ex-employee, is an instant messaging solution for Twitter. You can chat with your fellow ‘tweeps’ with t.imo.im.
I already knew about the existence of this service but didn’t actually pay much heed to it (sorry, my bad) until some minutes ago when Twitter CEO, Evan Williams himself ‘invited’ all of us to chat with him on t.imo.im.
When you log in to t.imo.im, you essentially see three panes: the left pane showing all your tweeps with their online status, the centre pane where the actual chat takes place and the right pane showing your Twitter timeline.
To chat with someone, both of you need to be mutually following each other and using t.imo.im. You can invite from your ‘following’ list for instant messaging by clicking the ‘Chat’ link in the Twitter timeline (right pane).
Go to t.imo.im

Topsy, one respectable name when it comes to sharing on twitter, has released a new ‘re-tweet button’ that updates real-time without the need of page refresh. It streams the data related to the number of times the post is shared on twitter and refreshes it ‘live’.
This is what the live-streaming re-tweet button looks like:

Topsy clarifies that this feature is optional and hence you can turn if off if you find it distracting. Sites with huge traffic and an engaging community will be able to visually flaunt their power with the live streaming button. The button uses Javascript and you can learn more about how to turn on this feature using this doc. If you are using WordPress, then download and install Topsy Plugin (version 1.2.3) and enable the streaming feature.

I love Tweetdeck. Everything about Tweetdeck is simply amazing. Now that they have incorporated Facebook and LinkedIn to it, it’s even more of a one-stop shop for social networking. If you have been our frequent visitor then you might be aware of our new Facebook Fan Page. It’s just been out from oven and I wish to keep it regularly updated. So I have added the TechExplorer FB Fan Page to Tweetdeck so that I can easily post an update for our FB fans. Here’s how ‘you’ can add and update ‘your’ FB Fan Page via Tweetdeck.
1) Open Tweetdeck and click the small + icon at the top. This will open the settings panel.

2) Then click the small [+] icon to add a module.
3) Now, if you have already added your Facebook account, it will show up in the ‘Account List’. If not, then first add your Facebook account. Then, select ‘Facebook’ from the list and click the ‘Add Pages’ button at the bottom.
4) Then you will be prompted to login to your Facebook account and authorize Tweetdeck to publish updates.
5) Once you do that, you will see your Facebook page listed in Tweetdeck. Check mark ‘Show update in panel?’ and save settings.
6) Now to update your Facebook Fan page, open ‘Compose Update’ box, click it’s button to highlight it and make an update.
Enjoy!
