Google Instant has received above average reviews from all over. It has been appreciated by the major lot and hence Google decided to integrate it with Chrome. The latest version of Chrome now boasts Google Instant within the browser. However, Firefox users won’t have to remain deprived of the feature thanks to an add-on called – InstantFirefox.
InstantFirefox is a really simple Firefox add-on that integrates Google Instant functionality within the browser. Once installed, all you have to do is to start typing your query in the address-bar and the search results will start showing up immediately.

The only glitch I find with this add-on is that it superimposes itself over add-ons like Fast Dial which is quite a popular add-on and used by many. Even if you are typing a website’s URL, the add-on immediately starts showing up results. This gets a little annoying. It’s worth a try, though.

Google has publicly released its URL shortener service, http://goo.gl, which is quite good and reliable if you’re to ask me. There are less chances that Goo.gl abort their service unlike many others who have already did that. While Goo.gl is a excellent URL shortening service, you still have to go the its web page to shorten URLs. But if you’re using Firefox, you won’t have to do that anymore.
Goo.gl Lite is a really useful addon for Firefox that make URL shortening using Goo.gl a breeze. It is extremely awesome because of the fact that it requires just one click and your shortened URL is ready for use.
Once you download and install Goo.gl Lite, customize the toolbar and drag n’ drop Goo.gl Lite’s button beside the address bar. Clicking the button will shorten the URL in the address bar and will copy it into the clipboard. You just need to paste it where required.

Apart from that, every link that you shorten using Goo.gl Lite shows up on Goo.gl web page so you don’t miss out on click analytics too. Pretty good. Try Goo.gl Lite for yourself.

Opera was probably the first to embrace (and innovate) the ‘speed dial’ feature that we now see in Google Chrome and Safari, giving you 1-click access to your favorite/most-visited sites. Now there are plenty of ways in which your can spice up Opera ‘Speed Dial’. One such is to add a quick local weather report in one of the speed dial boxes. My.Opera.com user BS-Harau shows a how to do it.
1) Copy this URL below and replace YOURCITY with your preferred city.
http://speeddial.operacesky.net/weather.php?lang=en&area=YOURCITY&top=100&redirect=http://my.opera.com/
2) On the Speed Dial Page, right click on any empty boxes, choose ‘Edit’ and then paste the URL in the text-box. Click OK.
3) To receive updated weather report every 15 minutes, just right-click the speed-dial box again and choose ‘Reload Every‘ > ‘15 minutes‘.
