Apple

iPhone 4 will have 512MB RAM; more than even an iPadSo, it’s official. Instead of updating my post about the features of the iPhone 4, I thought this deserves a dedicated post for itself. MacRumors confirmed today that iPhone 4 will have a whopping 512MB RAM which is even more than the iPad (256MB). With the new blaze, iPhone 4 now competes head-on with the Nexus One and HTC HD2.

MacStories came up with a bit of proof from the WWDC ‘10 session on Advanced Performance Optimization:

iPhone 3GS sinks to $97; iPhone 3G rests in peaceiPhone 4G is just around the corner and so this might not come as a surprise that Apple has not only sliced down the price of iPhone 3GS to $97 but also discontinued the iPhone 3G. This is being done to make room for the brand new iPhone 4G.

iPhone 3GS sinks to $97

Today, Wallmart officially dropped the iPhone 3GS price down to $97 and Apple stopped shipping the iPhone 3G (8GB) to AT&T stores. No more orders for the same will be taken. It is expected that Steve Jobs will announce the new iPhone 4G at WWDC event on June 7 along with a glimpse of the new Mac OS X version.

Twitter for iPhone (aka Tweetie 3.0) now available for downloadThe wait is over. The official Twitter app for the iPhone is now available on the Apple’s app store. Formerly known as Tweetie until version 2, the excellent and highly acclaimed app was acquired by Twitter a few months ago. Now it’s available for download under the name ‘Twitter for iPhone’ and is apparently labelled ‘version 3.0’. Before the acquisition, the app was priced $2.99 on the app store which can now be downloaded for free.

Twitter for iPhone (aka Tweetie 3.0) is definite to surpass the awesomeness of its predecessors. It’s a must have app on the iPhone.

iPad: 1,000,000 units and counting!

May 4, 2010 0:15 am by Jal

iPad: 1,000,000 units and counting! Before January 27th and even shortly thereafter, many said – “it” looks just like a big iPhone; bad design; this kind of device won’t work in real life applications; just another Apple product, etc. but Apple seems to have smashed them hard on their faces when Steve Jobs revealed in a press conference today that Apple has managed to sell 1,000,000 (a million) iPads in just 28 days after launch.

Steve Jobs said,

One million iPads in 28 days—that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.

iPad is one magical product and it surpassed the iPhone in terms of initial phase of sale. Apple promised to change the way we perceive mobile media and computing devices and I feel it has already done so. I am yet to try my hands on the iPad to experience the awesomeness. As for Apple, it surely deserves an ovation.

Stay tuned for more tech news.

iPhone 4 will have a 5MP camera

May 1, 2010 10:08 am by Jal

iPhone 4 will have a 5MP cameraBack in January 2010, Apple Insider reported the possibility of LED camera flash in iPhone 4G. Now the latest reports are coming in from The Chosum libo that iPhone 4G will indeed have an advanced 5MP LED flash camera manufactured by a Korea based company, LG Innotek.

Rumors already had it that the iPhone 4G will be big on camera. The brutal dissection saga of the iPhone 4G by Gizmodo also revealed a front-facing camera along with a LED Flash on the back.

With a 5MP camera, the next iPhone will come in line with what’s offered by Google’s Nexus One. Hopefully, Apple will unveil the iPhone 4G at the annual WWDC 2010 during June 7-11 in San Fran. Other much anticipated features in the next iPhone are native Facebook integration, a better resolution screen, video conferencing using iChat app and overall performance boost. [via]
