Google Chrome gets a new logo

Since its launch, Google Chrome‘s brand identification, its logo has remained the same…until today. When I upgraded Chrome (Dev channel ) to version 11.0.696.12 dev, I got a sweet surprise. The logo was revamped.

Google Chrome New Logo

The new logo has a crisp, light-weight and speedy feel to it whereas the previous one looked 3D, glossy and rather bulky. I think the new logo goes very well with Google‘s obsession with performance, simplicity and speed. You will have to upgrade to the Dev channel version 11.0.696.12 or newer to see the new logo. I suppose, Google will spread its use across other versions and websites gradually. It’s always pleasing when things get a make-over, isn’t it? :)

I think it looks old, dated, '90s. I like the shiny one that looks like Google is thinking about the future and being on the cutting edge, not the one that looks like they haven't upgraded their computers in over 10 years.
