That’s what Google finally decided. Reader, a hugely popular RSS reader by Google, won’t support IE6 from June 1. In fact, Firefox 1.0 and 2.0, Safari 2.0 and 3.0 and Chrome 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 also won’t be treated differently.
Earlier this year, Google announced that Google Docs won’t support older browsers including IE6 and later, considering the superior capabilities of HTML5, discontinued Google Gears. Now the ‘Offline access’ feature in Google Reader will be discontinued.
As for the good news, you can now comment on your friends’ shared items. The commenting process was a bit complex till now but now it’s been made simpler. Now if you see a shared item, you can comment on it.

If you have been publicly sharing items from Google Reader, the next time you log in, you will be given a choice to either continue with the current settings or make your shared items protected. This will surely engage more users into a conversation.
