Chat with your fellow tweeps using t.imo.im

When Twitter’s popularity is going leaps and bounds, it’s rather apt that someone might pull off chat client based on Twitter. t.imo.im, founded by Google’s ex-employee, is an instant messaging solution for Twitter. You can chat with your fellow ‘tweeps’ with t.imo.im.

I already knew about the existence of this service but didn’t actually pay much heed to it (sorry, my bad) until some minutes ago when Twitter CEO, Evan Williams himself ‘invited’ all of us to chat with him on t.imo.im.

When you log in to t.imo.im, you essentially see three panes: the left pane showing all your tweeps with their online status, the centre pane where the actual chat takes place and the right pane showing your Twitter timeline.

To chat with someone, both of you need to be mutually following each other and using t.imo.im. You can invite from your ‘following’ list for instant messaging by clicking the ‘Chat’ link in the Twitter timeline (right pane).
