Airtel to bring 4Mbps broadband at Rs. 899/month with ‘Impatience’ Plans

March 22, 2010 0:17 am by Jal

Bharti Airtel recently introduced new ‘Impatience Plans’ where it brings blazing fast 4Mbits/s (that is, 512 KBytes/s) broadband starting at just Rs. 899. Full plan details can be seen in the infographic below.

Airtel Impatience Plans

‘Impatience’ plans are really competitive because even if the speeds drop to 256Kbps after the predefined threshold, it is still remains better compared to other plans from other ISPs. They are currently available in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Noida. Keep checking their official site as many cities will be added soon.

Out of the 4 ‘Impatience’ plans, I find the ‘Impatience 1099’ most appealing. I can quickly download a lot of data ;) within 12GB and then be back on 256Kbps with just 350 Rs. more than what I currently pay to BSNL for a 256Kbps unlimited plan.

Hey, the good news is not over yet.

Airtel is also about to set a minimum broadband speed to 512 Kbps for ALL plans.

Bharti Airtel is set to upgrade all its existing plans to a minimum speed of 512Kbps, without any additional cost. Customers currently on 64Kbps, 128Kbps and 256Kbps will be upgraded to 512Kbps. And those on 512 Kbps and 1 Mbps plans will be upgraded to 1 Mbps and 2 Mbps respectively.

The whole process of upgradation of plans will be completed by June, 2010.

The Joint President, Telemedia Services of Airtel, Mr. K. Srinivas said,

K. Srinivas, Airtel Massifying broadband experience in India has been the pivotal to Airtel’s strategy for broadband. These initiatives bring in a new paradigm for broadband in India.

The of Download at 4Mbps is quite not high dude, I suggest instead of this plan you can for for 512 Kbps Unlimited @ 1099 in Airtel.

airtel service is the best service, i got a prob in my net in 2008. i complaint customer care, they give me a complaint no. nd u know wt? after dis in juss 2mins i receive a call. a boy ask me abt my home. i said i m in he said i m out of ur home. it shoking 4me. airtel service is best. bt 4mbps plan? sorry guysss... i m nt agree wid dis.

The speed assurance given by Airtel is all crap. They deliver a contention ratio of 1:4 instead of 1:1 they promise .. i.e you will get 1/4 th speed . BSNL plans are reliable and they dont cheat like pvt. telecom players.

Airtel is very crooked company with gimmicks and one should never trust them. They lie and never deliver the speed. Most of the time one gets 50% of the speed one pays for irrespective of 512K or 4 MBPS.

They put 5000 people on a line meant for 500 people(contention ratio). Net results is they steal from you everyday giving you only half the product you pay for. Their customer support people are very nice & polite but it is useless as their congested lines are unusable.

They are greedy, like integrity and TRAI needs to do something about them.

hiiiiiiiiiiii gys this is not a fadu plan becz not unlimited in 4GB,.

First Airtel sucks then second whatever Broadband plans they are selling are not unlimited in any way the reason because of fair usage policy what the fu*k how can you say unlimited plans when u apply terms like fair usage policy or contention ratio which is bullshi*t. I got Mtnl 1 mbps unlimited but it got contention ratio means shared bandwidth atleast its better than any private company selling broadband plans. I urge all indians not to go with airtel plans in anyway boycott it and complaint to TRAI using email or by post letter. These kind of companies need to be shut down immediately they are robbers which like to rob innocent customers by their fu*king cheap marketing strategy. The Airtel team who is bringing these type of sh*t plans must be hanged ASAP.

MTNL cheers.... forever

i dont agree with u nishant
i was using bsnl 256 kbps ul plan and it was so horrible that it hardly worked
all govt companies in india sucks, their customer support is pathetic...
after 1 month i got airtel broadband i was so amazed by their service
within one day my broadband got installed and was working very good
till now i havent got a single problem
i had a problem with my airtel landline and guess wat after calling their cc it was replaced within 20 min... now thats wat i call a service
and guess wat airtel is increasing the speed of their customers 2 times and that too free of charge...
wat can be more cool than this...
just go for 512 kbps ul for 1099 and till june u willl get 1 mbps unlimited...
airtel is simply the best...

never go for any govt company... i have requsted 4 disconnection of bsnl service 1 month b4 and havent got my security back till...
airtel is best in all feilds compared to bsnl or mtnl

ha true that. You should check out BSNL though. They too have some awesome unlimited plans though IMO, Airtel is as good as they come but here in Mumbai, it is MTNL all the way :).

@Nishant I got your point but MTNL is not available everywhere. It has one of the 'awesomest' plans and many people are jealous that only Delhites and Mumbaikars get it. We have to search for other options. :D

256kbps is slow.. lol..

I for one, am using 2mbps night unlimited from MTNL. it allows me to download nearly 7gb a night, every night for a month for just Rs.849! yes, it is not completely unlimited but If I wanted, I rather get the 1mbps unlimited for Rs.999. I just feel, that companies should provide good unlimited plans instead of the same old data limit plans, one way or the other.
Ask yourself, 4mbps and just 6gb data limit?? what is the point? :S...if it was say 60gb it would make sense but definitely not 6gb.
It sucks that companies are hell bent on data limits, fair usage policy etc etc to suck out every dime from the consumer! (I am not pro-MTNL either but they seemed to have the best unlimited plans by far).

@Ram 512Kbps Unlimited @ 1099 is definitely awesome. But I think the 4Mbps also is not that bad. You can download a dozen 700MB "files" or may be some big and useful software like Photoshop, Visual Studio very quickly using the first 12 GB. Then one can as it is enjoy at 256kbps. Good for professionals and movie buffs who can have the best of both the worlds.

@Nishant Agreed. "If" we could somehow enable the 4mbps whenever we want. Such a facility would be next to impossible.

I am not so keen on completely ruling out the 4Mbps plans either. One can easily download a bunch of movies and some huge software in the first quarter of the month and can then use it @ 256 kbps just like they were using any other unlimited plans till now.

Not exactly mouth water plans. Have a look at MTNL. 512 kbps unlimited for only Rs.590 and 1mbps unlimted for only Rs.999. both plans can download more than any of the 4mbps Airtel Plans.
Though what would have have made the airtel plans awesome would be if there was anyway, we could choose when we want the 4mbps enabled then it could probably make more sense. Cause there are times when u want really high speeds to download something imp and that is when the 4mbps plan can really shine!

The of Download at 4Mbps is quite not high dude, I suggest instead of this plan you can for for 512 Kbps Unlimited @ 1099 in Airtel.
