In the February 2010 security update, Microsoft will patch a 17 year old bug that was present in the Windows operating systems since Windows NT 3.1.
Google security researcher Tavis Ormandy discovered a bug in a utility that allows older programs to run on newer operating systems. The bug is that this utility could be easily misused in Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and 2008 as well as Windows Vista and Windows 7. More at BBC →
