Starting tonight, Twitter users will be able to voice chat with each other thanks to the service called JAJAH @call. In spite of being in its infancy, I mean in Beta, the service is doing a hell of a job and is very easy to use.
So, if you want to start with it, you need to signup at JAJAH (free registrations). After that, in order to voice chat, all you have to do is to write ‘@call@username’ (where ‘username’ is the Twitter handle of the person whom you are calling) in your favorite Twitter client (without any additional text) and experience the awesomeness yourself. Now here are some points that you might want to know.
1) The voice chat service currently supports voice calls upto 2 minutes, after which the call will be terminated automatically. This goes very well with the concept of Twitter – Microblogging. So why not ‘microchatting’ which can surely be termed as ‘a-verbal-equivalent-of-a-tweet’.
2) Are you concerned about your privacy? Well, the voice chat facility works only if two users mutually follow each other.
3) This service can be summoned from any Twitter client. That’s what I call user-friendliness.
4) This voice chat service require no phone numbers. Just a Twitter connection is sufficient.
If you want to test the Beta service, then you can request an invitation by sending an e-mail to [email protected]
