Easily navigate to Network Connections in Windows Vista / 7In Windows XP, it was rather very easy to navigate to the My Network Connections folder. However in Windows Vista, it has become a tiresome job. You have to take a long way, a long road. First you have to go to Control Panel, then Network and Sharing Centre and then click on Network Connections. But now there is a small solution using which you can access it in one click.

1). Create a shortcut on the desktop (Right-click on the desktop -> New -> Shortcut). A window will appear.
2). In the textbox that you see, type ncpa.cpl
3). Click Next. Type ”Network Connections“ as the name of the shortcut.
4). Press Finish.

If you want to change the icon of the shortcut you just made, then

5). Right-click on it and click Properties.
6.) Press ”Change Icon…” button and navigate to WINDOWS -> system32 -> imageres.dll
7). Choose the icon of your choice.

April 27, 2008 4:15 am by Jal

Snipping Tool: Entertainment + PurposeMicrosoft has introduced a new application, the ‘Snipping Tool’ in Windows Vista. Many users are just unaware of its existence and so was I, till yesterday. Snipping Tool is a tool that take screen shots of applications running on the screen or a certain part of the screen. Lightweight, yet very efficient tool which Windows Vista users can now use to take screenshots.

Here’s how you do it:
1). Click .
2). Navigate to All Programs -> Accessories -> Snipping Tool.
3). When you click on it, a window like the one below will appear.

4). User can choose among many options to take the screen shots. Just click on the small arrow beside the ‘New’ button.

5). Options or preferences can be changed by clicking on the ‘Options’ button.

If you still think Alt-Printscreen or Printscreen is the best application for things like these…. well, stick to it! Whatever makes you happy, you see!
